Wednesday of March 30, 2022, DHSUD Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario, Cong. Maria Theresa Collantes, Mayor Edilberto G. Ponggos, Sangguniang Bayan members, MDRRMO Personnel and other LGU employees turned over and inaugurated the evacuation center located at Barangay San Juan, Alitagtag, Batangas.

The 40-million worth facility will be used to cater the affected individuals in case of disaster. Moreover, it consists of RHU Center, MDRRM Office, play area for children, community kitchen, prayer room and comfort rooms.

This is a manifestation that the municipality of Alitagtag is ready to serve the Alitagtagenyos and nearby municipalities in times of disaster.

National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

3RD QUARTER NSED 2023

In compliance with NDRRMC Memorandum No. 6 2023 dated February 1, 2023 re Resumption of Face to Face Conduct of Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill and Office of Civil Defense Memorandum No. 671 dated August 18, 2023, the Local Government Unit of Alitagtag through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office joined the Third National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last September 7, 2023, 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Government employees, barangay functionaries and other agencies participated in the simultaneous “duck, cover and hold” procedure. Likewise, functional exercise was conducted to evaluate capabilities and functions of their chosen/specific response mechanism.

The conduct of quarterly nationwide earthquake drills is one of the government's efforts to promote disaster preparedness and resilience among communities.

Tree Planting Activity

The Local Government Unit of Alitagtag spearheaded by MDRRMC Chairman, Hon. Edilberto G. Ponggos in partnership with Philippine Red Cross Batangas headed by Ronald Generoso, Chapter Administrator in cooperation with Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program conducted Tree Planting Activity and Coastal Clean-up last September 15, 2023 at Dingin, Alitagtag, Batangas. The objective of the activity was to protect the environment from the effect of global warming. Three hundred (300) seedlings were planted in the vicinity of Dingin. Participated by MDRRMO, LGU Employees and Personnel, PNP, DepEd, and 4Ps Alitagtag, the conduct of the activity strengthens the partnership among the stakeholders for greener community.
