Building Culture of Safety: 3rd Quarter Drill for Earthquake Preparedness
In cognizant with NDRRMC Memorandum No. 27, s. 2025, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alitagtag, spearheaded by MDRRMC Chairperson Hon. Jo-Ann B. Ponggos, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), actively participated in the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
The earthquake drill was conducted to reinforce public awareness and strengthen preparedness in the event of a seismic emergency. Government employees, barangay officials, public school personnel and students, Alitagtag PNP and BFP as well as partner agencies, took part in the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure — the standard safety protocol during earthquakes.
The MDRRMO Alitagtag remains committed to continuous training, capacity building, and community education to ensure the safety and preparedness of its constituents in times of disaster and these drills are integral to the national government’s ongoing efforts to promote disaster risk reduction and enhance community resilience.

Preparedness in Action: Alitagtag Joins 2025 Nationwide Earthquake Drill
In line with NDRRMC Memorandum No. 27, s. 2025, the Local Government Unit of Alitagtag, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), participated in the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held on July 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
Government employees, barangay officials, public schools, and partner agencies took part in the “duck, cover, and hold” drill. To strengthen public awareness and preparedness, an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign was also conducted.
These quarterly drills are part of the government’s efforts to promote disaster readiness and build community resilience against earthquakes.

Nagsanib-puwersa ang LGU Alitagtag sa pamamagitan ng MDRRMO Alitagtag, lokal na kawani ng pamahalaan, Alitagtag PNP, BFP at mga barangay, at paaralan sa matagumpay na 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2025.
