Empowering BPSO: Emergency First Aid and Basic Life Support Training
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) under the leadership of Chairperson Hon. Jo-Ann B. Ponggos through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in coordination with Alitagtag Bureau of Fire Protection successfully conducted an Emergency First Aid and Basic Life Support Training for barangay tanods in the 19 barangays of the municipality. The training was conducted on September 12-13, 2025, with the aim of providing participants with necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to respond appropriately to different emergency situations.
The very essence of this training was to equip participants with the mindsets and skills they would need to handle unforeseen crises, reduce injury, and offer immediate support to those affected.
We express our sincerest appreciation to the Alitagtag Bureau of Fire Protection headed by FSInsp. Dennis Gonzales and all the resource persons for their invaluable expertise, inputs, and unflinching dedication during the conduct of the course.
We also extend our sincerest gratitude to all the participants for actively engaging and committing.

CONTINGENCY PLANNING (CP) TRAINING
MDRRMC Alitagtag Successfully Conducts Contingency Planning Training
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), led by Chairperson Hon. Jo-Ann B. Ponggos, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), successfully completed the Contingency Planning Training held on July 22–25, 2025. This training aimed to enhance the participants' skills in crafting strategic and responsive contingency plans.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our Course Monitor from OCD-CALABARZON and all Resource Persons for their invaluable expertise, guidance, and commitment throughout the training.

Prepared to Respond: Alitagtag MDRRMC Wraps Up EOC Training
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Alitagtag, headed by Chairperson Hon. Edilberto G. Ponggos, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), successfully completed the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Training held on March 19-21, 2025.
The training enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills in emergency response coordination, which is essential for effective crisis management and ensuring community safety.
We sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement, commitment, and dedication throughout the training. Your efforts will play a vital role in improving emergency operations in the municipality.

CAMP COORDINATION AND CAMP MANAGEMENT AND INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSON PROTECTION TRAINING
Alitagtag Boosts Camp Management Capacity
The Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection Training—a flagship program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)—was successfully conducted by the Municipality of Alitagtag on February 19–22, 2025.
Led by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) under Chairperson Hon. Edilberto G. Ponggos, and implemented through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the four-day training aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity to integrate CCCM concepts, principles, and practices into local planning and community development initiatives.
The course featured comprehensive modules, functional exercises, and an assessment test to ensure effective learning and application.

4 Days Ambulance Operations and Basic Light Search and Rescue Training
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Alitagtag, thru the effort of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Chairman Hon. Edilberto G. Ponggos with the MGDH-MDRRM Officer Richard Ian A. Bautista spearheaded the 4 Day Ambulance Operations and Basic Light Search and Rescue Training in partnership with Philippine Red Cross Batangas Chapter, in line with the implementation of the Republic Act 10121 also known as “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 held Janaury 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2025 at Barangay Concordia Covered Court.
With all things considered, a dire need to conduct a Capability Building on Four Thematic of Disaster including Ambulance Operations and Basic Light Search and Rescue is imperative to overcome the challenges to build green and resilient community. This training program aims to strengthen the capacity of Alitagtag MDRRMO personnel, and Barangay Responders in disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response and disaster rehabilitation and recovery. With these training, the participants was able to harness new knowledge and skills that could help them to perform efficiently in times of disaster operation.
